Our Guides

Welcome to the Naqshbandi-Singapore Haqqani Rabbani Tariqat Order.

We are followers of Maulana Shaykh Nazim Al-Haqqani, and we have a small group of about sixty people in our congregation. We take our guidance from Maulana Shaykh Nazim, as well as from his senior mureeds and Khalifas, Maulana Shaykh Adnan Kabbani, and Shaykh Raja Ashman Shah, who have been tasked by Shaykh Nazim to advise us on all spiritual matters. Shaykh Bahauddeen, the son of Maulana Shaykh Nazim, also advises us constantly, and brings messages and advice from his revered father, to us.

I was in Sri Lanka recently in Ramadhan (between 4th and 13th of Sep 2010 and again from the 4th to 19th of August 2012), to meet Maulana Shaykh Adnan, to pay my respects, and to learn about how to execute my duties to Maulana Shaykh Nazim’s mureeds here, as a leader is a servant to his people, and must serve them in the best possible way. Being one in dire need of support and advice, I am deeply grateful for Maulana Shaykh Nazim’s support and prayers, and with the two powerful pillars (Shaykh Adnan and Shaykh Raja Ashman Shah) that he had sent to support weak ones like us. Alhamdulillah.

Maulana Shaykh Nazim’s representative for the Naqshbandi Tariqat in Asia, is His Royal Highness, Yang Amat Mulia Raja Dato’ Seri Ashman Shah ibni Sultan Azlan Shah Malaysia. A long time mureed of Maulana since the 1980s, he is the Prince of Perak, and his quiet, humble, unassuming ways have won him deep admiration and respect. Born on the 28th of December 1958, he passed away recently on the 30th of March 2012, and Maulana has appointed his sister, Yang Amat Mulia, Raja Eleena binte Sultan Azlan Muhibbudin Shah, to be in-charge of the entire Far East, henceforth.

We in Singapore, used to travel up to Kuala Lumpur once each month, to join Shaykh Raja for the Khatam Khawajagan there, and to pay our respects and to share in the blessings that descend on such loved ones. His blessed Maqam is now at Maqam di Raja, beside the Ubudiah Mosque, near the Iskandariah Palace, at Kuala Kangsar, Perak. Mureeds from all over Asia often visit his Maqam, as he was Sultan Quloob, Sultan of Hearts, and everyone loved him dearly and deeply.

We are practising the teaching of our revered Khwaja Shah Bahauddeen Naqshbandi Uwaisil Bukhari (qs), which is to have Suhbah at every opportunity. Since he said that our Way is based on Association (Suhbah), we will only make progress if we have a Suhbah at every opportunity that Allah presents to us.

The spiritual development of mureeds is of paramount importance in this Way, and everyone is welcome to partake of the love and teachings of the Tariqat, without obligation.

In Singapore, we meet weekly at Masjid Hajjah Fatimah Mosque at Beach Road every Thursday night at 9.15pm, as well as during the weekends at the homes of the mureeds. There are absolutely no fees, payments or charges involved at all. All we request, is that you open your hearts to listen to the teachings, and to ponder over them seriously. After all, what could be more important than a matter of eternity?
