Get to know us

I am Brother Abdul Sattar Khan, and I am the one assigned by Maulana to take responsibility for this group, the group under HRH Shaykh Raja Ashman Shah (q). There is another Naqshbandi group in Singapore who are known as the Simply Islam group.

.As a representative, I am no one special, and neither am I superior to my group members – in fact, there are many in the Tariqah here, who are more learned and more Spiritual than I am.

Being a representative means, being a servant to my group members. Rasulullah (saw) said, “The leader of a Community, is one who serves them.” I am also not a Shaykh, so just call me brother. Maulana Shaykh Nazim said in a recent Rejab Suhbah, “No one who has yet to complete seclusion, should call himself Shaykh.” I shall post the link, and the Summary of that Suhbah, once it is ready.

Allah says in the Qur’an, “Obey Allah, obey Rasul, and obey those in authority.’ And the authority is our Guide, Maulana Shaykh Nazim Adil Al-Haqqani.  Both the congregation and myself are all under his guidance, so I stand as an equal to my brothers and sisters in the congregation. Our Pathway to Maulana’s Doorway is Almarhom Shaykh Raja Ashman Shah (q), and our Doorway to Maulana’s Heart, is Shaykh Adnan Kabbani.

We do not seek to recruit, as Rasulullah (saw) said, “Each community is given the Leader it deserves.” For example, as mentioned above, there is another Naqshbandi Group in Singapore – those who are in that group, deserve the Shaykh that they have there, and he deserves them, just as those in our group deserve each other. There is no animosity between groups, because we all accept the Hadees, that each Group deserves its appointed Leader. Alhamdulillah.

That’s me below, so if you see me, come up and chat, don’t worry, I won’t bite, I won’t sell you life-insurance or any MLM products and I won’t ask you to be my guarantor for my car loan. You don’t have to call me Shaykh, Wali or Khalifa, just call me Brother. I don’t want anything from you. I only want you to give yourself a chance to find something that completes you.
